ICOMOS Palestine condemns the Israeli authorities\u2019 decision to establish an electric elevator in the Ibrahimi Mosque. Calling on the local community, UNESCO, UN organizations, and the International ICOMOS to intervene to stop this procedure, which will lead to an irreversible change of the historical monument. ICOMOS Palestine stresses the urgency and need to take immediate procedures to protect Palestinian cultural heritage in general, and the Ibrahimi Mosque in specific, for the imminent threats its facing today. As a Palestinian World Heritage Site since 2017, and since then, Israel has prevented Palestinian efforts to take measures to restore and protect the site, in an attempt to remove it from the list of endangered sites.<\/p>\n
